Brief Answer:
Information

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

My knowledge about the weed killer Roundup is more based on medical studies rather than whether it would kill bees, but I do not think it would kill bees directly as it is an herbicide. Glyphosate in Roundup works on plants by preventing plants from making certain proteins they need for their growth. I do not think that bees would need to make the same proteins as plants do.

Glyphosate has been shown in many studies to have cancer causing potential in humans and animals. For this reason, the state of California was planning to require labeling on Roundup to state that it is a carcinogen.

The company that makes Roundup, of course, has been fighting any labeling or maligning of their profitable meal ticket.

There are a limited number of studies (and I am wondering if they might have been funded by Monsanto which makes Roundup) which proposes that glyphosate could inhibit cancer cell growth through inhibiting intracellular glycine synthesis. This is still in experimental stages. Where have you seen that it is being used intravenously for cancer treatment?
