How Is Folliculitis Treated?

default
Posted on Mon, 23 Jan 2017
Question: What is this if its not a wart? Ive had several doctors look at it, all saying it does not look like a wart. No biopsies done. It had a hair and pus in it at one point but will not go away. I put vinegar on it yesterday for a at home hpv test and it turned slightly lighter, not full blown white. The hair growin from it, the pus, and the fact that there are clear discharge tells me its not a wart but what could it be? Its been there for 2 weeks now.

Brief Answer:
Seems to be folliculitis, oral & topical antibiotics

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have gone through your complaints as well as reviewed the attached photographs.
It is looking like folliculitis which is inflammation of the hair follicle. It doesn't look like a wart.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to take oral antibiotic like tablet cephalexin 500 mg twice daily for 5-7 days and apply topical antibiotic like mupirocin cream or fusidic acid cream on the affected area twice daily for 7-10 days.
This should resolve it.
These are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
