Brief Answer:
Fine needle aspiration

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that you have a nodule on your thyroid/parathyroid and that the doctors are recommending a fine needle aspiration. This procedure is very common and is not very painful. They actually us a needle that is smaller than the needle used to give flu shots. They will also numb the area with medication so you will not feel anything. The procedure has few side effects or complications.

The good news is even if they find a cancer the chances of curing it is very high. Thyroid cancers are curable.

I recommend that you proceed with the biopsy but you do have the choice.

I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions
