Question: I touch a woman (lower belly), bottom, and breast. I'm almost sure i didn't touch any part of her vagina, if i touched It was the upper side just maybe for 5 seconds. after touching her, I realised I had an small cut in the front face in one finger of the hand I used to touch her. it has one day old, it was not blood or pain, the cut was red like red skin (like6 mm long), but not blood (I scrapep my finger with a knike the day before). her hiv status is unknown. she is a friend 41 years old, who says she has no problem with HIV, but she have stayed with some men and had rheumatism problems. I had a boil in my eyebrow 2 weeks later (the skin around my eye was swelling), then at 6.8 weeks afteri had a soar of throat for one week I touched her sweat (alot), i didnt notice any injury in her body. What if i touched vaginal fluids is there some risk of hiv in this situation?

Brief Answer: DETAILS ARE GIVEN BELOW. Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for writing to us. Followings are my comments: 1) If you NEITHER involved in unprotected sex NOR touched vaginal fluid, then your chance of HIV transmission is EXTREMELY RARE from above sexual activity. 2) You should know that HIV can transmit through semen, vaginal fluid, breast milk, blood. However, it DOESN'T transmit through tear, sweat, urine, feces. As her HIV status is UNKNOWN and you have recent cut in one finger, you must undergo one HIV test for confirmation if you touched her vaginal fluid. 3) For your concern, most sensitive and specific test for early detection of HIV is PCR DNA. It detects genetic material of HIV instead of antibody in blood. It is also known as viral load test. It has less window period & usually done after 28 days from last exposure for accurate result. Kindly, consult with your healthcare provider or contact with laboratory to perform the test earlier. Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query. Wish your good health and take care yourself.
