Posted on Tue, 18 Jul 2023
Question: I have trouble getting an erection. I am 72 years old and had a heart attack 11 years ago and triple bypass 2 years ago. Do I need testosterone? My family doctor is a female and I don't feel I can speak to her regarding this problem.

Brief Answer:
About testosterone treatment.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

You need to check testosterone level in order to decide if the trouble in erection you have is due to low testosterone or other causes.

If the testosterone level is too low for your age then treatment with testosterone may be indicated as it is considered a cardio-protector but of course under cardiologist supervision.

You may check testosterone and SHBG and attach the result for further information.

Hope I have answered your query.
