How does physical therapy help with bone spurs on back?
It improves muscle strength
Spurs in back spine is due to instability. So it is a sign of weak muscles. When you do physiotherapy it will improve muscle strength and it will provide support to spine . That leads to decrease in back pain. Though there is no change in spurs on x ray.
Along with physiotherapy muscle relaxant like myoril or myospaz is also helpful in back pain. I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
Yes but I can be due to nerve compression
Pain around butt is due to neve compression in spine. This is not direct result of weak muscles but a part of disease. In that case we start extension exercises andthat causes decrease in disc compression. This causes decrease in pain.
