My Dear, Thanks for sending your query to us. Basically you have to talk to your surgeon about the type of surgery he wants to do,and the type of lens to be put in. The advaced level of surgery done now requires a small, less than 2mm.opening and a phaco probe removes the lens and through that opening a lens is injected.lens should be aspheric ,foldable. The surgeon has to decide if you need a multifocal or a monofocal lens. General diseases like diabetese and bp should be under control. Ask if surgery is to be done under local or topical anesthesia. With advancement in technology there is usually not much of a problem and it is a safe surgery. Please do get back to me in case of any further query in this regard.
