Brief Answer: You are rightly advised for medical management. Detailed Answer: Hello XXXX Thanks for writing to HCM You have single vessel coronary artery disease as stenosis is greater than 75%. Single vessel coronary artery disease is less severe than other types of coronary artery disease. It is commonly found among young adults. It is important to know ejection fraction(EF).Generally EF is better in single vessel disease and it is the most important factor to guide proper management and survival rate. These patients often have atypical and stable chest pain and severity is less. Survival rate of the patients with single vessel disease treated surgically and managed non-surgically are same. So,you are rightly advised for medical management only. Stenosis develops due to atherosclerosis in vessels,so you need to screen for Diabetes mellitus,Hypertension and Lipid profile. If these are deranged then it should be corrected. You may need to take anti angina drugs,so you can consult your cardiologist. You also need life style modification and diet changes. You should reduce your weight also if you are overweight. You should avoid red meat, high fat milk products. Cook food in olive or canola oil. You should take limited salt in your diet.Avoid fried and junk food.Avoid alcohol & smoking if you take these things. Take lot of fruits and vegetables. You should also increase your physical activity in the form of walking and exercise. You can also do meditation and yoga.It will help you a lot. Don't take stress in life. Get well soon. Hope I have answered your question. Further queries are most welcome. Take Care Dr.Indu XXXXXXX
