Question: I have white coat hypertension.....I have had this all my life.....I am 71 yrs old...female......I have been to numerous psychologists and therapists.....I am in good health and take 1mg.. of Synthroid daily. When I go to dr office my BP goes sky high....at home it is around the 120's over around 70.....went to dr last Monday before appt at home went up to 140's over 80.....at appt was 180/90 pulse 123......got home 1 hr later....was 120/75......I have great fear about high BP since I was a child......at last Dr appt I took xanax 37.5......first time ever I have taken any meds like that hoping that would calm me down....guess it didn't work....I am so worried that that high number will killl me..am so tired of worrying about it.
