How Can Infection Around A Puncture Wound On The Forearm Be Treated?

Question: Hi - Pruned XXXXXXX bush yesterday. Today discovered large thorn protruding from left forearm which came out easily and completely i thought. Applied Neosporin and bandage. After church noticed it had left a 2" red area. Tonight i saw a tiny 'dot' of thorn - gently squeezed area - and it slid out easily. Puncture point looks 'clean'. There is a small swollen area under skin to the left of puncture point. Am concerned as went on line for info. - and read XXXXXXX thorn infection often takes days or weeks to show up. i do take 500mg Hydroxyurea as a blood thinner and feel w/thorn in arm overnight the red mark and swelling may simply be a natural bruised reaction. Thank you - would appreciate your opinion.

It appears to be a normal reaction to to thorn prick.
Just relax and keep applying neosporin.
Late infection to thorn prick occurs in the form of fungal infections.
I suggest you to take an oral antifungal medication like fluconazole 150 mg per week for 4 weeks as a precautionary measure in consultation with your doctor.
It is safe and effective.
