Question: hello, my daughter is 2.5 yr old, she fell on the stairs today and her front tooth is bit loose and gone little inside. There was a blood for a while, but later it's fine. She is very uncomfortable with the change in position of the tooth.

does the loose tooth get fixed after sometime on it's own? Do I need to visit doctor?

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX .

Thanks for consulting Healthcaremagic .
This is Dr. Priyanka tiwari answering your query.

I have read your query and understand your concern . As your daughter is 2.5yr old and she got loosing and intrution of front tooth due to injury see Mr. XXXXXXX what happened is loosening and diplacement of the teeth seems to be due to damage to the supporting structures of the teeth that helps in its XXXXXXX .
At times due to fracture of the teeth also they can become loose..
Yes i would suggest you to consult an Pedodontist or Oral Physician and get him evaluated and a through clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray can help in diagnosis.
In case if there is fracture in the teeth then most probably extractions are to be done..
But in your case as there is slight loosening of teeth and if your radiograph reveals there is not much damage in supporting ligaments then we can also wait for few months to observe the changes tooth and supporting ligaments .
In the meantime continue applying ice compresses. Give plenty of fluids; give ice cubes to suck; you can also give ice creams.
Consult Doctor for clinical examination and IOPA xray then revert me back for further query i will be happy to help.

Hope this will help you .

thanks for your reply. After seeing it more closely, I don't find the loosening of the tooth, though it had gone little inside. She is not complaining of any pain. in such scenario, is there a possibility of fracture or ligaments damage?

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX .

Welcome again .

I have read your query . As there is no mobility (loosening) of teeth and no other symptoms then there might be No fracture or minor ligament injury .Mr. Mayak I can say there is possibilty that your child's primary incisor teeth re-erupts in few months and maintain its vitality .
I will suggest you to observe few changes in your child's tooth for few weeks like Tooth Discoloration, intraoral swelling , increased mobility .
If you noticed any symptoms then consult Oral surgeon for clinical examination and investigation like IOPA radiograph and revert me back with details .

Hope this will help you .
If you have further query i will happy to help.
God bless your child .

Thanks .
