How Can A Lesion On The Back Of The Hand Be Treated?
Question: Ive had this "lesion" on the back of my hand for about a year.
It has not grown or changed since i first noticed it. I would hardly even say it was raised at all.
What is this? Is it a wart?

I have gone through your query and I have viewed the image.
I can see a flat skin colored lesion on the back of hand with a stuck-on appearance.
This could either be a flat wart (verruca plana) or a seborrheic keratosis or a flat scar from previous trauma.
Although trauma can be excluded on history but for a single flat lesion such as this clinical distinction between flat wart and seborrheic keratosis may not always be possible.
I would suggest either freezing or electrofulguration for this lesion.

Yes, a flat wart is an HPV infection and can spread to other parts of body like face, limbs etc by autoinnoculation. However, genital HPV iinfection is usually transmitted by sexual contact and is caused by different HPV types, other than those HPV types which cause flat warts.
