Iced it for. 1 week Went back to dr. Did mor e blood tests. Their ok but no advise but wait and should go down? It's starting to get harder. Do you think it should be drained ? I started heating pad today..
Could it go to infection. ? What advice do you have.

Brief Answer:
Ultrasound, aspiration, pressure bandage

Detailed Answer:
HI.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
Noted the history well, seen the photo and understood your concerns.

There seems to be a large hematoma in the center and since this happened 12 days ago and now you are feeling this to be harder I would advise you the following:

High-resolution Ultrasonography, repeated aspiration if the hematoma is still liquefied and pressure bandage should help to resolve this earlier.

Using ice or heat pad now will not help.

Usually, closed cavity hematoma does not undergo infection, but the possibility is always there.
Since this is large, it can take a lot of time or may get organized and permanent. This is on a pressure-area hence should be aspirated. If required aspiration can be repeated. Draining causes an incision would and hence it would be decided as per the opinion of the Doctor or a General surgeon you would consult.

Please discuss these points with your doctor and get a proper management.

I hope this answers your query.
Please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

Great advice. I saw a surgeon on fri and decided on a ultrasound and radiology will do a drain and plug. I'm worried that's going to hurt and don't know what it's going to drain into..I quess they can't do compression with something on my back. I'm hoping they aspirarate it first . You were thinking to aspirate it and then wrap it up to ous out and change bandages. The dr. Said the plug and drain is closed off from infection.? Still deciding my appt with kaiser is wed afternoon..what do you think?

Brief Answer:
As detailed below.

Detailed Answer:
Drain and plug may mean there will be plugging so that retro-grade infection is not allowed.
Thi is a great idea.
Please carry on.
Pressure bandage may not be fully function in such area hence we advise to have thick pad and ask the patient to sit and sleep in such a way that the body keeps pressure on it.
Please let me know the feedback.
All the best.
No stress, no anxiety. This will be fine.
