Question: Last night after washing my face I noticed on my left bottom eye lid when I pulled away from eye a mucus like white substance but when I touched it was more like a small growth that was approximately 1/2 centimeter in size just inside the eye lid.
I have moved and my eye doctor is 250 miles away and I would normally cal him now I need to know if this is serious and who I need to call.
Thank you

Brief Answer:
Most likely Hordeolum.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic for your query.
It can be a Hordeolum(internal sty) or Chalazion.
Styes are a red, painful lump near the edge of the eyelid that may look like a boil or pimple.Styes are caused by a bacterial infection. Usually the bacteria grow in the root of an eyelash. An internal sty is called hordeolum;and is caused by infection in one of the tiny oil glands inside the eyelid. A chalazion forms when an oil gland in the eyelid becomes blocked.A hordeolum usually is painful,Slippery and localized. It may produce edema of the entire lid also.
If possible please attach a photograph,It would be easy to give you a diagnosis.

No its not a emergency condition,But you should consult your opthalmologist.
Treatment
Any over counter anti inflammatory like ibuprofen along with broad spectrum antibiotic drop like Moxifloxacin should be used for 3-5 days.
