Brief Answer:
oral anti inflammatory, topical anesthetics,

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Hemorrhoids are swollen inflamed veins in the rectal region.

Treatment involves-(1) you can use an oral anti inflammatory pain medication such as naproxen or ibuprofen or cataflam

One of these would help reduce the swelling or pain

(2)avoid prolonged sitting or standing- when sitting use a cushion or donut

(3)Dab NOT wipe when using the bathroom. Use wipes that can be flushed. This would reduce trauma and further swelling or inflammation

(4)Use a stool softener for a few days only, so that you don't have to strain

(5)use a topical anesthetic medication such as lidocaine to help ease the pain

(6) warm sitz baths work very well . A warm sitz bath would help to reduce the swelling. Epsom salt or table salt can be added

Future episodes can be avoided by preventing constipation or straining.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Brief Answer:
surgery is the last option

Detailed Answer:
HI

Sorry for the delayed reply

Surgery is an option but it is mainly used for large hemorrhoids or hemorrhoids that do respond to conservative medical treatment or associated with significant bleeding or those who do not tolerate office procedures

Office procedures include- sclerotherapy--- insert a chemical into the veins that cause them to close off

Banding----tying the bottom of the hemorrhoid to reduce the blood going to it
