Question: I have some lymph nodes swollen under my right jaw.i have had oral sex with two men in last 6 months.both were checked for hiv and chlyamedia and gonneareha and said there results came back negative.i do believe them.i do not think I have a sore throat or cold.my chiropractor saw me Monday this week and felt one of my lymph nodes and said lets see you Friday if it hasn't gone down .i should go see a doctor. This last Friday we had a kids vs parent soccer game and I had my feet sleep out from under me because the field was wet.i fell very hard on my higher shoulder/neck area and saw double for a couple seconds and really strained my neck muscles because it whiplash my head.i ice it immediately.i also had some food stuck between my teeth that was painful greeting it out last week right above lymph node that is swollen.there are 2 swollen nodes one was there Monday and has been for awhile the other I either didn't notice or it just popped up.started doing netti poti saline sniffs 3 times a day starting Monday after noon.have also recent had a tonsil stone on same side as nodes as well.say 6-8 weeks ago.i went to clinic to today and took 2 hiv test both blood test, negative on hiv and had syplis blood test negative, sent off urine for gonneareha and Chlyamedia.no gonneareha or chlyamedia symptoms.was going to go tommorro and have throat culture even though it doesn't hurt now and hasn't hurt .nurse said she didn't see gonneareha or chlyamedia in my throat.well what you think?

Brief Answer:
Rule out tooth infection and subchronic tonsillitis

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Since you had oral intercourse almost 6 months ago, the negative testing rules out any sexually transmitted infections.
The enlarged lymph nodes is likely due to an underlying infection in head and neck region.
Given your history of tonsillar stones, subchronic bacterial/viral tonsillitis which can persist for longer duration and does not cause any pain, need to be considered. Throat swab analysis will aid in the diagnosis.
Another important consideration is tooth infection which may be painless for a long time before actually causing any pain. So, please follow up with your dentist and the clinic for the scheduled throat culture. If any obvious focus of infection or other issues cannot be identified, then lymph node biopsy is recommended if the lymph node enlargement persists.
