default
Posted on Thu, 24 Sep 2020
Question: My name is XXXX and I am 19 years old. I've been having problems getting an erection during sex. I've been having this problem for a couple of months now with no signs of improvement. I take no medications and have gotten my testosterone levels checked with one result telling me it was below normal and the second result being barely normal. I feel slugish every morning and when I wake up I feel more tired then before I would go to bed.

Brief Answer:
Thyroid function and prolactin should be checked;

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I have gone through your concerns carefully.

Testosterone level should be at the upper normal ranges at your age so a low level associated with low testosterone symptoms should be evaluated (FSH, LH levels should be checked) to find the cause.
Also, you need to check thyroid function (TSH, Ft4, and ft3) and prolactin level.

Please attach the result (Testosterone results too) once they're done and it'll be a pleasure to help you further.

Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta

Hello again I just got the exact number for my testosterone levels and the first one came back as 250 and the second one came back 275. What does this mean and where do I go from here?

Brief Answer:
Check the blood tests mentioned above:

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
The testosterone level is low for your age.
The symptoms you described are also suggestive for low testosterobe level.
The above mentioned blood tests would be of help to rule out any pathology causing low testosterone.
You may check them in any laboratory or see an endocrinologist in your area, who can prescribe the tests.
Anyway, you can attach the results for further suggestions.
Best wishes,
Dr.Mirjeta
