Question: Hi, my mom has developed rashes on the back followed by fever and body aches. the physician confirmed it to be chicken pox. while the fever subsided and there are slight shoulder pain, the skin rashes doesn't seem to be reducing. it's getting a lot itchy during night time . please let me know if hlthere is a way to get the skin rashes treated faster in a dermatology way. she is currently taking antiviral and anti allergic medication.

Chicken pox usually takes 10-15 days to resolve.
Antivirals hasten the recovery of chicken pox which she is already taken.
She can apply calamine lotion on the affected areas twice daily.
This will reduce the irritation and itching.
