Hi, My 16 Year Old (autistic) Daughter Some Discomfort Around Her Abdominal Area Any Thoughts Suggestion?
Question: Hi, my 16 year old (autistic) daughter hasn't had an appetite since yesterday (Friday). She just says she's not hungry, not even a chocolate chip cookie or ice cream today, her favorites. On Friday, she ate only a couple of spoons of oatmeal at breakfast, no lunch and a couple of bites of lasagna for dinner. Today, she had no breakfast, a couple of bites of canned spaghetti at lunch and no dinner. She's eaten only because we've told her she had to eat something. She exhibits no particular or acute pain, just some discomfort around her abdominal area when my wife and I checked around the area while she was lying on her back. Otherwise, no other symptoms. Any thoughts? Thank you, XXXXXXX

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The symptoms of your daughter seem to be related to a viral infection of the stomach.
It can be due to contaminated food or water.
Some advice that I can give to you are:
-Give Buscopan 10 mg for the stomach pain
-Give daily probiotics
-Give liquids
-Small frequent meals are recommended
If she will develop other symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea or fever you can contact me again for further treatment.
