How Does A High HCG Level In The Test Report Be Interpreted For Having Twins?
Question: Hi doctor I did a hcg test when I was about 5 weeks and it was fairly high a doctor suggested it could be twins I have attached report please suggest I went for a scan it was not ectopic we saw a sac. Would u suggest I do another hcg at 7 weeks ?
Brief Answer:
Ultrasound advised
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
I have reviewed the reports.
It will be better to repeat the ultrasound, preferably transvaginal ultrasound, to confirm whether twins are there and to confirm the viability of the pregnancy.
Beta hCG levels will not give any conclusive results regarding viability of pregnancy and number of the fetus.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
