Hi,

HIDA scan is used for detection of gallbladder disorders such as gallbladder stones or motility disorders. It is not related to std or any other infection. It is done by injection of contrast intravenously and then abdomen is imaged to see how your gallbladder works.

Hi,

Well, the whole process takes less than 2 hours. When you get intravenous medication you need to lay on scan table for 1 hour till your abdomen is scanned. Then you can go home soon after the procedure. Results should be over the next day.
