Brief Answer:

Endometrial biopsy and dermoid removal

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Thickening of endometrial lining can be due to hormonal changes, endometrial hyperplasia or endometrial malignancy, depending upon the age of the patient.

For confirmation of the diagnosis, endometrial biopsy and histopathological examination is required.

Dermoid cyst are benign tumours and can be removed surgically, either by open or laparoscopic surgery.

I missed my period this month my last period was on March 9th can this be a cause for thickening? Beta hcg levels are 1.2. Is biopsy still required?

Brief Answer:

Hormonal changes

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Delayed periods and thickened ET with low beta hCG levels are suggestive of hormonal disturbance resulting in endometrial hyperplasia.

If your age is more than 35 years, then a biopsy is suggested.

Hope I have answered your query.
