Brief Answer:
Better to get her evaluated by a pediatrician, do sponging.

Detailed Answer:

Welcome to Ask a Doctor service.

I have gone through your query and understand your concern for your child.

Fever associated with cough and cold usually is viral in nature, but very commonly there will be an added bacterial component in such fevers as the viral infection lowers immunity and predisposes us to bacterial colonisation.

So, it is best to consult your local pediatrician to rule out bacterial infection. If the phlegm has turned to yellow color or if she has developed wheezing, and if the fever is persisting it could indicate bacterial infection.

If the fever is high, you can do tepid sponging with tap water or slightly warm water (25 to 30 degrees Celsius).

She may require a course of antibiotics and other supportive medicines for the cough and cold which will all require a prescription from your local doctor to buy from the pharmacy.

I hope that answers your query.

Wishing your daughter a speedy and complete recovery.

Best regards
