Why Would One Experience Epilepsy Like Symptoms For A Couple Of Months Followed By Dizziness And Fainting Spells In The Recent Times?
Question: Hi Doctor, I have the query for my mother. She is having the symptoms like fits from last couple of months. First time it happened before 6 months and then after 2 months and now it's happening once or sometimes in a week. All of a sudden, she is having dizziness and becoming subconscious for couple of seconds and falling down, she has sense during that time. During that time, her body is shaking. Many times it has happened while lying to bed after having food. She is having dizziness most of the time and she is feeling some kind of disturbance around the left ear. It's paining sometimes. Could you please tell me what might be the reason behind this?

Low Vitamin D levels can present with diverse symptoms starting from bone pains to psychological problems too. Supplementing her with Vit D will solve most of the problems she has.
The other possibility I could think of is vertigo. I would recommend a visit to ENT specialist who can check for vertigo. Sometimes vertigo can present with transient loss of consciousness. It is manageable well with medications.
