Question: Hi Doctor, I am having thyroid since a year and have been taking Thyronorm 75mg. I tested my Anti TPO antibodies and level is high. We are planning for a family and I am concerned about my anti tpo antibodies level. Kindly advise a treatment to reduce the level. Also a diet that will help reducing the levels. Thanks and regards, Somi

Brief Answer:
we don't treat anti bodies.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

We do treat hypothyroidism, with antibody positive or negative, but do not target anti bodies, even if very high.
so please do not follow them. you need to follow your thyroid profile only. if that is normal, continue same dose, and continue your plan of parenting a baby.
anti bodies do tell that there is likelihood of the problem existing in your baby, but that is not transmitted at birth. it might happen anytime in life.
regards!
