Hi Doc, From The Past Few Days I Am Suffering
from the past few days i am suffering from lower back pain especially in the right lower side and also experience discomfort after waking up from sleep especially in the neck and back. Continuous stiffness in my neck throughout the day probably because of workng long hours on a laptop. Also, i'm grossly underweight, 6ft and 53 kg.
Could be related to posture and stress
yes there is a possibility that low back pain gets triggered due to poor posture, weak back muscles and stress.
I would suggest that first get rid of pain by taking anti inflammatory with muscle relaxant like hifenac mr, then strengthen the back muscles by doing back exercises.
some medication like pregabalin might help.
take care of calcium and vitamin d levels,and maintain them.
lastly,arthritis of back should be ruled out,by doing inflammatory markers like esr,crp and hla b27.
Thanks for the prompt reply. What corrections should I make to my posture and can you also suggest some back exercises that I should undertake?
Back strengthening exercise
posture correction means that don't slouch on the chair, sit straight with the small of the back touching the back of the chair.
exercises are back strengthening ones,like bhujang asana, bridge pose, and naukasana.
regular work out like jogging or brisk walking will also help.
