Hello, My Question Is Why Do I Feel Heat Generating

Question: Hello, my question is why do i feel heat generating on both of my lower part of my legs , time to time during the day. it happens through out the day and it last for about 7 to 12 seconds. it feels like im taking a lighter and placing the flame on my leg. i experienced it 3 years ago and the episodes have returned the last 3 weeks. , im diabetic 2 individual. if i may add, my feet have been hurting pretty bad the last month.

Hi,

The burning sensation that you describe it is termed paraesthesia. Since you are known to have diabetes, this paraesthesia could be an indication of diabetic neuropathy. I would suggest to visit a neurologist for neurological examination. Blood sugar status need to be reassessed. Similarly vitamin B12 levels, hemoglobin, vitamin D as well as thyroid hormones need to be checked.

I will recommend you to see a neurologist.
