Question: Hello,
Yesterday I%E2%80%99ve got my blood test results about my LH, FSH, oestradiol and prolactin.
I%E2%80%99ve got my last menstrual cycle during the first week last May and I%E2%80%99ve done the blood test on 22st of November.
These are the results.
LH 7.7 IU/L
FSH 4.9 IU/L
Oestradiol 313 pmol/L
Prolactin 124 mU/L

I am 24 years and I didn%E2%80%99t have any problem with my cycle until last year when I%E2%80%99ve started to have some problems probably caused by stress.

Could I get a response about these result? How could proceed to solve my problem? The first date available for a consultation with my GP is on 28th of December, but I need urgently an expertise opinion.
Thank you in Advance,
Martina.

Brief Answer:
About amenorrhea;

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I have gone carefully through your concern.
The results attached are within the normal range, that means that there is no ovarian failure or high prolactin causing the absence of the menstrual cycle.
What you need next, is to check thyroid function and an ultrasound of the ovaries and uterus to rule out polycystic ovarian syndrome that is the most probable cause of this irregular cycle at your age.
If polycystic ovarian syndrome is confirmed, contraceptive pills would be suggested or if you are obese metformin could be also a choice.
Hope the information will help and feel free to ask if you have still questions.
Best wishes,
Dr.Mirjeta

good morning,
thank you for your explanation.
So, if I proceed doing a check for the thyroid function and an ultrasound, could I directly get a consultation in here from you to anilize the results and to receive a diagnosi or if it need to continue with additional checks?
If so it were I can do everything next week.
Thank you.
