What Could Cause Blood And Mucus In Diarrhea?

Question: Hello!
Would be very nice to know ahead of time how much this will cost me to get an answer.
Nonetheless...Yesterday I foolishly took supplements without food and minimal water. I fell asleep for about five hours and upon waking up I wasn't really hungry and went about my day. That evening wanting something to eat, but not wanting to fix anything, I had some strawberry ice cream which lately sometimes gives me diarrhea. So this morning it was not unusual to have those diarrhea symptoms upon waking up. This can mean maybe 4-6 times before my gut cleans out. Well on the 4th time there was red blood mixed in with mucus. I've had 4 visits to the potty today with blood and small amount of kind of clear mucus. The last episode the blood was a bit browner looking, not so bright red as at the beginning. So, i don't have medical insurance and hesitate going to the DR or ER. There is not really any pain associated with this (only slight, oh so tiny bit of discomfort periodically) - probably why I haven't moved on this yet. I'm thinking if I do a liquid easy-to-digest diet over these next few days...then the irritation most likely cause by the supplement taking will have healed and I'll be okay. What do you think?? The supplements I took were Vit D, MK7 (advanced form of K2), BiomeMedic (Bacillius coagulans, wheat germ extract, chicory root fiber extract, fulvic and humic acid blend) and Super Minerals for Women. I also don't have a thyroid and take daily Nature-Thyroid and a troche of sex hormones (T,Pro,E2) made with mint essential oils (never along with anything else. The mint EO is new to my system beginning about a month ago and seems strong in my mouth - but I'm able to handle it and am getting use to it. Wonder if what little bit of EO gets to my stomach daily could be a painless irritant that has been culmulative and a possible concern?? Thanks for your help!

Brief Answer:
Hello. Right now i dont think there is any problem for you to worry about.

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Some points i would like to suggest you- taking supplements isn't bad, its good, but make sure that you take it as per your doctor's prescription and do not do self mediation. Go to your doctor for regular follow up. After a certain age, say after 40s, its better to get routine check up once a year even if you are totally fine.

Blood and mucus diarrhoea is mostly because of amoebic dysentry. If you consult your doctor he/she may give you anti-protozoal tablet like Tab. Flagyl three times a day for 5 days. That should relieve your symptoms.

If there is blood often in stools, associated with other symptoms like loss of appetite, loss of weight etc then probably you need to consult a gastro-enterologist who make advice for a colonoscopy.

Right now i dont think there is any problem for you to worry about.
