Brief Answer:
Mild fullness of kidneys is a non specific finding.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Mild fullness of kidneys is a non specific finding and it may be due to many causes like recent passage of calculus, extrarenal pelvis etc. Generally it doesn't need any treatment.
Your doctor rightly suggested that it may be a normal anatomic variation.
Normally left kidney is larger than right.
Small simple renal cyst may be ignored some times. This a developmental finding and generally it only need follow up.

Left sided pain may be due to musculo-skeletal causes like spasm, costochondritis etc. You may need proper evaluation.

Get well soon.

Hope I have answered your query. Further queries are most welcome.
