Hello, I Have Had A Abscess On My Perinium For A Month My Question Is, What Can I Do At Home To Make This Thing Go Away? Should I Repeat The Compresses Every Single Day And Drain It? Is There Any Other Way I Can Deal With This Problem At Home Without Having To Go To The Doctor And Have It Lanced?

I have had a abscess on my Perinium for a little over a month. In the first week I took antibiotics and it came to a head, drained and stopped bothering me for a while. However, a small pea sized lump remained which would bleed and secrete fluid periodically.
Recently it started to become painful again. Tonight I applied a heat compress, then gently squeezed it until the fluid drained. I repeated this 5 times until I was exhausted and only watery looking blood was coming out.
The abscess shrunk down to a small pea again and is now not very painful. I also applied an antibiotic lotion the doctor prescribed me around the area and made sure to sanitize everything very well to prevent spreading the infection.
My question is, what can I do at home to make this thing go away? Should I repeat the compresses every single day and drain it? Is there any other way I can deal with this problem at home without having to go to the doctor and have it lanced? I read about some ointment called ichthammol that will help draw out the infection. Is this ointment safe to use in my perineal region? Is there any other methods I can use to try and make this go away on its own?

I have a somewhat rare condition which is an abscess, aka boil, aka staff infection on my Perenium.
I realize this is an uncommon place to have a boil, so you may have misunderstood the question.
