Question: Hello Doctor

Around two years ago i was swimming in the ocean as for a while with my workplace; and after I came up I had very cold legs and feet; and I started running while have very cold legs and feed. One of two days after this I got a bump under my knee, after just a few days it was big and have stay almost the same size since.
One day maybe 1 year ago I jump on my knee while practicing judo; the bump did go away; but came back after just a few weeks.

It doesnt give me any symptoms, no pain or anything else.
The first doctor I talked to asked me to wait and see; but now it has been more than two years and I want it gone.

What do you think ? do I have anything to worry about and is this an easy procedure ?
I have attached some pictures.

best regards XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Suprapatellar bursitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi there

Thanks for the query

I have read your query and viewed the attached pictures and understood your problem.

You seem to be having suprapatellar bursitis.

This is inflammation and fluid collection in front of the knee cap bone.

Apply warm packs to the affected region. Avoid excessive flexion of knee and kneeling.

Do an ultrasound to find the dimensions of the sac and any other possible diagnosis. Surgical excision can cure this.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Regards,

Dr.Aashish Raghu
