Hi,
Certain areas of our body tend to be darker than rest of our body like axilla, groins, genitalia, gluteal area, inner side of thighs, nape of neck etc as these areas are prone to friction and sweat.
Secondly genital skin in both sexes contains maximum melanocytes( pigment producing cells) per cm square of area and hence is darker than rest of our body.

Also color may vary with race, ethnicity and from person to person. Caucasians would definitely have lighter pigmentation. Some people are more prone to have darkly pigmented areas while some may have clearer skin.

The color I do not think is in any way harming your personal or professional life and hence should not be such a major issue as to keep you engrossed about it all the time. There are more productive and important things in life to concentrate about.
Too much worry about the same issue of a certain area being darkly pigmented when actually it is normal to be dark and pigmented may also suggest a somatoform disorder or dysmorphophobia

However if you still want to lighten the area, you might use Kojic acid based creams as these are mild in nature. But results might take very long time to appear and may not be very favourable. I certainly do not suggest very proactive treatment in the form of stronger creams or peels as these might harm the area.

Hope that cleared all your doubts.

Hi,
There is no way we can reduce melanocytes or slow down production as the number is genetically predetermined. Bleaching creams reduce pigmentation by decreasing melanin production and dispersing melanocytes.
Hydroquinone is a strong pigmentation reducing cream. Hence I would not advise its use on genitalia, though it can be used over gluteal area but in very small amounts.
Dove soap is a mild good soap and quite safe to use.

Hope that answered all your queries.

Hi,
Bleaching creams and pigmentation reducer creams are same and include hydroquinone, Glycolic acid, tretinoin, Kojic acid, Azelaic acid etc

Sometimes while shaving when the skin is kept too taut, the shaved hair curls back into its follicle to cause raised bump( razor bumps or pseudofolliculitis). To prevent the same, do not over stretch skin and shave in direction of hair growth

You are using one of the best sunscreens available. Ansolar and photoban are quite effective. So continue with the same. Sunscreen should regularly be used between 10 am to 4 pm irrespective of the weather condition ( sunny/ cloudy/ rainy etc) and should be applied 30 minute prior to sun exposure. Also its use should be repeated after every two to three hour.

Hope that answered all your queries!

Hi,
Apologies for the delayed response.
Underarm is usually dark due to friction, sweat, shaving or using depilatory creams or if obese due to acanthosis nigricans. There is no sexual preponderance ie seen both in males and females.
The best treatment option is to go for laser hair reduction and salicylic acid peels. You may also apply steroid tretinoin hydroquinone based cream like skinlite. It should be used in small amounts once in a day and very cautiously as the area is sensitive and prone to develop redness and irritation with the cream. So it is better to use the same when being in a doctor's follow up. As I said earlier you may use Kojic acid based cream as its milder( kojivit).

Xerina cream is a hydrating cream with Glycolic acid, urea, lactic acid etc which is meant to be used over dry hard areas like knee elbow feet. As it contains Glycolic acid may have pigmentation reducing benefit as well. Stretch marks are better treated with dermarollers followed by peeling sessions. Use of tretinoin cream may offer some benefit too.

Sunscreen contain active chemical compounds meant for protection against UVA and UVB. These are advised to be applied 20 to 30 minute prior to sun exposure so that they are better absorbed by the skin and is less likely to wash off and become inactive when you sweat.

Boys have high hair density due to male hormone testosterone.

As you have stretch marks and pigmentation problem both, it could be due to excess weight. So if in any case your weight is towards higher side, reduce it.

Hope that answered all your queries.
Take care
