Brief Answer: It culd be duet ureteric colic. Detailed Answer: Hello Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have pain in Rt lower abdomen and loin with pain and irritation while passing urine. This could be due to stone impacted in lower part of ureter. Please consult qualified urologist for clinical assessment and get following investigations done under his guidance to rule out presence of stone either in kidney or ureter. 1)Routine urine test and urine culture 2) Ultrasound scanning of the abdomen to rule out urinary stone. Please take broad spectrum antibiotics along with urinary anti spasmodic like Drotevarine twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.Switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report. Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician. Ensure to drink more water. To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria. Further treatment will depend upon results of these tests and final diagnosis. Hope I have answered your query. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask me I shall be happy to help you . Thanks and Regards. Dr.Patil.

i have been suffering from left sided pain in my abdomen since 2001.first it was a simple uti which got treated by a cephalosporin .then again in 2003 i got this pain but this time all the urine tests were negative.ivp and us normal.during this time twice i passed red blood like a flowing stream during bowel movement.no blood after that till 2009.but pain and discomfort continued.pain is mostly bearable.in 2006 father was diagnosed with polyps so in 2009 i underwent colonoscopy.as i wasnt sedated i saw an area of redness(inflammation) in my rectum .the rest of colon was normal looking the doctor said the mucosa was atrophic in rectum with loss of light reflex and obscure vascular pattern he took 1 biopsy from rectum and 1 from normal looking colon. in biopsy report there was mild to moderate non specific colitis in rectum and mild non specific colitis in the other sample.there was no atypia or cryptitis or any other abnormality.he also said i had grade 3 piles three of them.after the colonoscopy i bled during bm for about a month but this time the blood was smeared over the stool . also once i got black tarry stool.i took mesacol for 2 months only. then this year i spotted blood just once.last week i underwent another colonoscopy with a different dr who was highly recommended this time i was sedated and the doctor said he did not find anything abnormal no inflammation no piles did not even take biopsy.i had taken mesacol for a week before the colonoscopy.he said i have ibs but couldnt give me any reason for blood in my stool .i have also undewent 3 upper gi endoscopies without biopsy everything was normal but there is still heaviness and distention of my abdomen and now it has spread to my right side as well . i have frequent bouts of constipation and shiny sticky stools maybe due to mucus and gas all the time.plz tell me is it ibs or ibd .is there some blood test to confirm the diagnosis.

My 9 year old son has ulcerative colitis. Today he has had pain center stomach above the belly button area and now the pain seems to be under his right rib cage. Could this be from the colitis. We haven t had a bout with it since he was very young.

My most recent blood tests report CD3 and CD4 to be out of range...very high (82% and 62% respect.) IGg very low (0.35) Past tests reflected very low MCH and MCHC % My symptoms for past few years include extreme fatigue, ill feeling, hives, with no diagnosis other than lymphocytic colitis which has flared up recently. Is there a connection here? thank you

Hi my name is Katie, and I’m looking for answers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m a 26 year old, mother of three under three. I was a healthy active mom until I had my third child. After I had had my wonderful little boy I Started to noticed changes in my bowels. Almost every month I would have episodes of extreme abdomen pain with dierhea. By the time my son was two months old I decided to get it checked. It turned out I had a bladder infection. The following month things got worse; yet again I had a bladder infection, only this time the dierhea got a lot worse. I was going to the bathroom 20 plus times a day and had blood in each bowel movement, after three days of this I went to the ER were they suspected I had colitis of the bowel. They sent a referral to a gastrologist, Which I see as of May 9, 2011.The next day the abdominal pain got so bad I had made an appointment with my family doctor, where I got a prescription Asacol 400 mg. After a day on the medication the dierhea slowed down. I thought I was in the clear. I knew what was wrong and felt better. That was until I developed a temp of 107 with lower back pain that night. Went back to the ER to find out I had no colitis of the bowels, but did have a bowel infection. I was sent home with antibiotics. My son is now 5 months old and my health just keeps failing. I’m not eating good, yet not losing weight, no period, and not pregnant. As of four days ago I started to develop severe joint pain with swelling and no redness, for no reason. First day my left hand, that night my left foot, next day was by far the worst, when the pain moved into my right knee, making it impossible to walk. I could not bend the leg at all. By day three back into the ER I go. Was positive for a d-dimer, but the ultrasound found no clots. All other routine blood work was ok. As of today the pain has faded a bit in the joints I have stated about, however has moved into my left shoulder and left knee. I’m on large amount on pain and anti-inflammatory medications. Still no answers. I know I’m becoming extremely frustrated and depressed. I’m so tired of being sick. Please if you know anything let me know. Sincerely, Katie
