Having Fever, Stomach Ache And Cough. Taking Gibberish. What To Do?

Question: My 3yr old son has a fever of 103, stomach ache and a barky cough. Has woken up and is talking gibberish. I don't know what to do.

mostly viral laryngitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

From what you describe it looks like viral laryngitis.
However. Acute epiglottitis should be ruled out which will need antibiotics.
Please show him immediately in ER or to the pediatrician.

Meanwhile reduce the temp with acetaminophen or motrin.

Give plenty of oral fluids like milk,water,juices.

Gibberish talk is worrying --that is why I suggest that you see the doctor .
