Have painful numbness and burning sensation in thigh. What could be the cause?

i have painful numbness in my right thigh. has been getting worse over a few months now.
it is also accompanied by a burning sensation

Your symptoms are suggestive of a condition known as meralgia paresthetica, where the cutaneous nerve (nerve located in the skin) of thigh gets compressed under the inguinal nerve in the groin.
This is a harmless condition, and does not lead to any serious consequences. It may get aggravated with prolonged sitting.

For symptom relief, you may take gabapentin or pregabalin capsules.
If symptoms persist, you may consult a neurologist.
