Lower left side abdominal pain is very often caused by diverticulitis of sigmoid colon. Diverticles are a small pouches in the intestinal wall. Constipation is the most common reason for this condition.
Once a piece of stool stucks in such pouch, inflammation appears. Leaving it without a treatment can lead to perforation of large bowel.
That is why you should visit your doctor. Abdominal CT is the right test you should have. If diverticulitis is confirmed, antibiotic treatment is necessary.
