Question: Hi, I have fluid in my middle ear every month. It started about a yr and half ago. History for the last 3 years.Severe cold and fever followed by some lump under calf (think it was staph) went to er took meds until went away. I believe I had a small case of bells palsy after this for I could not quite smiling and eyebrow dropped on one side causing me a slight stigmatism. I didnt read about bellls palsy until recently, but the cramp in my cheek, constant squinting and eyebrow furrow, I guess I considered to be my anxiety taking a physical toll and no one believed my symptoms for they felt much heavier than I led on. I had wisdom teeth removed where as on one side it left a pocket even today that gets quite irritated any time I drink coffee, tea, chew gum, swelling and itching. Food gets stuck behing tonsils due to the scar tissue its formed clefts. I dont know what to do, the last affordable doctor says it's allergies. That's my history. My ear contantly rings all the time. I have scar tissue on the drums now. I never have much pain, more pressure than anything, and still get visible by the doctor white pockets on the old tonsils. I still squint quite a bit in my supposed bp eye, not as much cramping in the face as use to, and have definately a noticably smaller eye than the other now. Is the ringing related to fluid always in the mid ear due to the inflammed tonsils or is the inflammed gum where I had the wisdom tooth extracted (the pocket) also on same side as ringing, the cause of the inflammed tonsils or inflammed eustachian tube, blocking fluid or could fluid be getting trapped in there due to inflammation of the facial nerve?!!! I dont have insurance, I am kid free so no government help and with these symptoms Its seems like ill never do good enough in an interview to even get a good job. At this rate, if some one had some theories or cold hard facts to help me it would be great. Thank you so.

Yes , the ringing is related to the fluid in the middle ear. You have recurrent chronic Otitis media . This is a condition that results in repeated collection of fluid in the middle ear .
The best method to prevent this is to get a grommet put by a small surgery into the ear drum so the fluid would drain out .
Other options would be to be on a long term antibiotic and antiinflammatory .
Thanks and take care
