Dear XXXXXXX...
Thanks for writing to us.

The cause of itching at the root of follicle can be due to the following reasons:
1. Folliculitis i.e. bacterial or fungal infection of the hair follicle
2. Pseudo folliculitis which occurs due to ingrowth of cut hairs.
As you have itching after trimming, most probably it is Pseudo folliculitis.

Management includes:
1. Application of mild steroids like hydrocortisone.
2. For itching, you can take an antihistamine tablet.
3. Avoid trimming in that area for at least 15 days.

You will get a good result with the above mentioned measures.

Wishing you a Good Health. Let me know if I need to clarify further.
Thanks & take care.
