Hi and thanks for the query,

A distal fracture of the humerus shall certainly deserve an good quality X XXXXXXX in order to decide an appropriate management technique. Depending on the fracture line and complexity, treatment could range from non surgical techniques like usage of an immobilization with a plaster of paris (POP). This casting is used mainly when the fracture is not displaced and stable.

If its a complex fracture (multiple fragments, displaced fragments), the treatment shall be surgical. Surgical treatment shall be offered to improve outcome and reduce chronic complications. Pain, poorly healed fracture if treated inappropriately or late.

Other complementary treatment options like measuring Blood Calcium levels and Vitamin D levels is important. Calcium and Vitamin D supplementation in case these values are low could help.

I strongly suggest the upper limbs be immobilized as you wait to XXXXXXX the orthopedic surgeon. Thanks and hope this helps and kind regards. Feel free asking other specific questions if need be. Wishing you good health.

Kind regards,
