I have got a sharp pain in the front of my left ankle/bottom of my leg whenever i put weight on my left foot (is on the outside part of the ankle). i keep getting tingling pains from it aswell when i'm laid down. It started after i had been for a lengthy walk 2 days ago but i never fell over or twisted it. I didn't actually notice it hurting until that night. There is a slight swelling but little/if any bruising.

Thanks for posting your query.
The symptoms you are having are likely to be due to muscle sprain or pull due to stress. A bone injury like stress fracture is less likely.
You can take a mild pain killer and do a hot fomentation in the area for relief.
Avoid weight bearing on the foot.
Using an elastic ankle brace or a crepe bandage will help in providing support to the area. The pain and swelling are likely to subside in 2 weeks. In case the pain persists then consulting an orthopedician is recommended for a direct examination.
I hope this answers your query.
