Getting Bad Menstrual Cramps. Feeling Sick And Dizzy. Taking Tylenol. What Is Causing This?

Question: I get very very bad menstrual cramps.. and sometimes I get sick, dizzy, and I black out... this happened just a couple times and always after taking Tylenol. Do you think it was the tylenol that caused it? Since then ive taken advil, and panadol and had no problems... how do i ease the cramps and do you think im allergic to tylenol or is that the same as panadol?

hi,

Thanks for the query.

both Tylenol and Panadol are same they contain acetaminophen(paracetamol),
so your symptoms may not be because of the drugs,
excessive menstrual cramps can cause these symptoms,

this type of cramps can occur because of,
-emotional stress,
-narrow cervical canal,
-retroverted uterus,
-lack of exercise etc.

To decrease pain you can practice general measures like,
Adequate rest and sleep, regular walking, yoga etc.

Instead of Tylenol you can take tablets like Ibuprofen or naproxen or mefenamicacid etc,
If still you are having pain with your doctor’s advice you can go for oral contraceptive pills.
