Question: For the last 2 weeks I've had a slight sensation of irritation on the exterior of my penis. Sometimes like a finger was resting on it, sometimes a feeling like it was slightly chilled. No sores, blisters, no problems urinating, no burning during urination. There might be some slight discoloration (light brown) of the penis head and nearby area. I went to a retail lab and had a bunch of STD tests and I was negative for the usual suspects but I was surprised to learn I had the antibodies for HSV-1. I'm no MD but I don't think the HSV-1 is related to the skin irritation. If this skin irritation isn't a traditional STD, what the heck is it, is it contagious, and how do I get rid of it?

Hello,

I have seen your lab results and I think that the penis irritation is not related to HSV 1.
It can be a yeast infection but other possibilities are of dermatitis, friction rub causing irritated skin or balanitis.
You should know that yeast infection could be as a result of other diseases(diabetes) or could be transmmited from sexual intercourse.
During this time don’t use any cosmetics on the penis and should wash it every day, keep dry and may use local anti fungal cream(clotrimazole or myconazole) according a doctor prescription.
