Does Usage Of Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Cause Skin Allergy?

default
Posted on Mon, 23 May 2016
Question: Applied a lotion and quickly found out this lotion has caused rashes and allergic reactions in a lot of people. About 15 minutes after applying it i quickly washed it off after learning this.

Is it possible to avoid an allergic reaction or rash to lotions and stuff if you wash it off soon after applying?

Brief Answer:
Kindly tell the name of lotion and part of skin applied.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for the application of lotion and possible side effects.

As I can get you have applied the lotion for 15 minutes only and washed off after that. It is not common to find the allergic reactuon if it is washed within 15 minutes. It also depends upon the contents of the lotion and part of ski over which it is applied.

If at all it causes allergic reaction on skin then there are two kinds of side effects :

-Immediate side effects or short term side effects comprising of redness or burning or irritation over the affected area. It is further followed by redness, pain and itching of variable degrees.

- long term side effects comprising of atrophy or thinning with pigmentation.

I humbly request you to kindly let me know the name of lotion which you have applied, part of skin over which it is applied along with any irritation or burning or redness.

Hope to hear soon from your side.

With regards,

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome back and thanks for your swift response.

After getting the necessary information let me reassure you fully that this product will no cause any allergic reactions in your case. This is variable from person to person to get allergic reactions. It is depending on the area of skin applied and the time period also.

In your case it is applied only for 15 minutes and that too other than face area so is least possible to cause any allergic reaction.

I hope this allays all your anxieties related to the present issue.

My best wishes for your good health.
