Brief Answer:
See Doc for evaluation, not all tick bit cause Lyme's.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,

Tick bites remain the main risk factor for Lyme disease. However, not all tick bites would cause this condition. Ticks in deer infested areas are more likely to cause this condition than non dear infested areas. The area, tick type and season of the year also do matter. Not all bites therefore lead to Lyme's.

I just went through the image you presented. It shows clearly an inflammatory reaction due to irritation from the tick 's attack.

It is great that the tick was removed. Observing the characteristics and nature of the tick could have of interest to your doctor.

I think you should see your doctor. Your doctor would have information on the prevalence of Lyme causing germs and ticks in your area. If high, preventive antibiotics like Doxycycline can be given. If low, this would imply that your probability of developing the disease is also low, and preventive antibiotic treatment would not be justified. In that case, observation for some time would be the only thing to do prevention of any subsequent bites.

Thanks and kind regards,

Dr Bain
