Brief Answer:
Infection and stress can delay a cycle.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for posting your query.

Some medications can alter the menstrual cycle, as they cause hormone imbalance and altered coagulation patterns. Some of these are NSAIDs like Ibuprofen, anticoagulants, anti-tuberculosis drug Rifampicin, hormonal contraceptives, thyroid medication, antibiotics when used along with pills and so on.

Since you have had an infection recently, the infection itself and the associated stress also can cause a disturbed menstrual cycle, again due to transient hormone imbalance.

Thrush medication is not in itself likely to cause any abnormal menstrual pattern. Also, since you had an early period during the previous month, you could be having a delayed cycle now. This is mostly due to some transient hormone disturbance which often clears up naturally, once the body recovers from the stress.

Hope your query has been answered. Please feel free to contact for further clarifications. I will be happy to help.

Hi,

Thanks for writing again.

Pregnancy is possible in this cycle if you have been sexually active throughout without any protection. You can exclude this through the blood test and also a sonogram.

Hope I have clarified your query. Please get back if you need any more help. I will be glad to do so.

Brief Answer:
HPT reads well 3-7 days after the missed period.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing again.

Home pregnancy test reads well 3-7 days after the missed period. For a better clarification, you can get the assessment of the serum beta-hCG titres. This can read positive ten days after ovulation, if pregnancy occurs.

Hope this helps. Please get back if you need any more clarifications.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing again.

If you have been having persistently negative home pregnancy tests done according to the required precautions, pregnancy is very unlikely. Yet, you can cross-check with a blood test and a sonogram of the pelvis. You should also see a gynecologist for further appraisal of the situation.

Hope your query has been clarified. Please contact if you need any more information. I will be available to help.

Wish you good health.
