Brief Answer:
Cocaine affects macula.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to Health care magic.

I am Dr. Dadapeer K, an ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.

Cocaine is known to cause potential eye problems both in short time as in long time usage.
It is known to affect the retinal circulation as it causes vasospasm.
The common retinal problems include cilioretinal artery occlusion, central retinal artery occlusion, central retinal vein occlusion, toxic optineuropathy....

Hence use of cocaine is known to cause retinal problems involving the macula.

Hope the information is helpful to you.

Thank you.

My mom had a bad headache last thursday. She had a cat scan on Wednesday and they found a significant brain bleed on the right front side. She is awaiting a bed at a hospital with a neurosurgon, but in the mean time she is in icu. She has no stroke symptoms other than loss of short term memory. In the last 12 hours, that is becoming sigificantly more noticeable. The staff are great but when I mention that, they just say it is probably because she is tired. I read up o vasospasm. Could it possible me a sign of that?
