Question: i have had a severe tapeworm infestation for going on 3 yrs the incompetent doctors i've gone to think its in my head & prescribe anti itch cream & dismiss me they refuse to look at the specimens i have collected, this has made me very sick, weak, w/ vision problems & headaches which are not common for me they have ravaged my mouth & privates and my hands & arms legs, etc..the only thing that has helped at all is an urgent care dr. who occasionally will prescribe me bactrim, permethrin cream, silvadene crm & ivermectrin tabs all together but i cant seem to get them eradicated, i cant think straight & i am not a hypochondriac but i fear theyve gone into my brain. what do you suggest i do? i only have medicare ins.also they are aloso affecting my vision
i also suffer from extreme back & hip issues & i read somewhere that the tapeworms can form cysts in muscle groups my "normal" chronic pain went from barely tolerable to excruciating in my right hip area without me "overdoing it" im too damn young to feel this damn old (as the country song goes) help me please!

Brief Answer:
Stool examination, blood test, tablet levocetirizine

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome.
I have gone through your query.

I would have asked for stool sample, send samples to a laboratory for testing. A laboratory uses microscopic identification techniques to check for eggs or tapeworm segments in your feces. Because the eggs and segments are passed irregularly, you have to give two to three samples over a period of time to detect the parasite.
In tissue-invasive infections, your blood is tested for antibodies your body may have produced to fight tapeworm infection. Based on the report, we can decide on the management option.

Presently, I would suggest you to see a physician rather than a dentist, for examination. You can take tablet levocetirizine to address the itching, you can ask about this when you visit physician.

This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.

I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you.
Take care.
