Does Steroid Injection Cause Body Chills And Shivering?

Question: In a follow-up to my question this afternoon, my husband has just had a severe spell of chills and uncontrollable shaking... no fever. This is the worst spell he has had in the two weeks since the injection, but now... ten minutes after the fact... no chills, no shaking, all is fine. Could he be the exception and be the one who is having a strange reaction to a steroid injection?

With your description of symptoms , these type of late reaction to steroid is very uncommon. It's better to rule out other causes for his movement.

Thank you. I should have been clearer re the shaking. It wasn't a seizure type of shaking. He was shaking uncontrollably from being so cold. I was piling on heating pads, blankets, and sweaters until he finally stopped shivering and started to get warm. But a while after this spell of chills had subsided his fever returned and was up to 101.6. He has taken something for that and now it's back down to normal. The crazy thing is he isn't feeling that bad aside from the chills, sweats, and fevers. Those come and go but it's not like he's feeling ill or sickly. That's why we're grasping at straws to see if this could possibly be related to the injection.
