Brief Answer:
hi and welcome

Detailed Answer:
Well,it depends on what you mean buy saying little pot. If this is few times then it won't have any significant effect on your health. Also, this can't directly affect heart function or replaced valves, but if you take it for longer period and in significant dosages then it will affect both heart and lung function and it could have negative repercussions on function of these organs . Wish y ou good health. It is advisable to keep your blood pressure within normal range and regulate weight. So little pot won't harm you if you avoid other risk factors such as unhealthy food, obesity, cigarette and alcohol. Feel free to ask.

i am living a healthy lifestyle, most cannot believe i am five weeks post op. i can do five plus mile walks without any shortness of breath, or pain. By a little, i mean, very little and not every day. Maybe once a week. I smoked a little daily prior to the surgery, but have not touched it since then,
1. What are the effects on blood pressure, and will it negatively effect the beta blockers i am on?
2. Does it raise heart rate to a point that could be dangerous this close to post op?

Brief Answer:
hi

Detailed Answer:
Generally it will decrease blood pressure and increase pulse. So in people with cardiac diseases it may cause certain problems with heart rhythm. Fortunately, changes of bp and pulse are minor and in healthy people it doesn't have any bad effects. But considering your recent surgery, you should limit use of these substances to minimum,if you can't already stop it completely, at least for 6.months post surgery. In people who are taking it for the first time,it will cause increase of blood pressure but after longer use ,it causes decrease. There is no known interactions between pot and beta blocker but I suggest to measure your bp more frequently if you plan to smoke this since blood pressure fluctuations may occur. Wish you good health.
